The company was formed in Vancouver, British Columbia, on July 3, 1997, and is headquartered in Santa Monica, California. Mark Rachesky (Chairman) Jon Feitheimer (CEO) Michael Burns (Vice Chairman) Largely due to cost controls, it generated net income of $43.3M, +217.7% vs last year, on revenues of $449.4M, -21.1%. While the top line missed forecasts for $488.6M, earnings per share at 30 cents were well ahead of expectations for 17 cents.


The Hungers Games Mockingjay- Part 1 is an upcoming 2014 American sci-fis adventure film directed by Francis Lawrence with a screenplay by Peter Craig and Danny Strong. It is the first of a two cinematic parts based on the novel Mockingjay, the final book in The Hunger Games Trilogy, written by Suzanne Collins. Produced by Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik and distributed by Lionsgate. The films starts Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and many others. It is the sequel to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and will be followed by the concluded entry, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2. 

The budget for this film was $250 million which was shared with part two shared with Part 2 and the release dates for the films is November 20th 2014 for the UK and November 21st for the US
